Germany 1956 – Compact – 35 mm – Rare.
Among the plethora of 35mm film cameras, Voigtlander’s foldable rangefinders, the Vitessa, emerge as some of the most visually captivating and unforgettable pieces.
These cameras boast an unmistakable angular design, wherein the lens elegantly emerges from a dual-flap opening – a distinctive feature that sets them apart. Equally unique is the lengthy cocking rod that extends from the camera. Rather than a conventional cocking lever, the Vitessa employs this elongated rod, enabling the simultaneous advancement of the film frame and the cocking of the shutter with a single motion.
Thankfully, this rod retracts effortlessly upon closing the front flaps.
