Welcome to the first Parisian museum entirely dedicated to iconic cameras.
Nested within the mythical Studio Harcourt, this pocket-sized museum invites you to a fascinating journey through time in the company of the most iconic cameras of the 20th century.
Along this route, you’ll encounter legendary brands like Leica, Hasselblad, or Zeiss Ikon, but also lesser-known gems of design and technology that have paved the way for the cameras we use today.
A unique collection
Although sometimes regarded as nostalgic curiosities, these incredible devices were once objects of passion, fascination and desire. They radically changed our perception of the world and laid the very foundation for our current “image society”.
Today they tell us the compelling story of a century obsessed with capturing the essence of the world.

A family story
Like any real collector, Gianpaolo Benincasa was not a reasonable man.
He devoted over half a century hunting rare vintage cameras around the world, resulting in an incredibly eclectic collection that spans from the early 20th century to the onset of digital photography in the 90s .
In 2023, three years after his passing, his son Federico established the 99 Cameras Museum to continue his legacy and share his collection.

A new project in 2024
In 2024, in the era of digital efficiency and AI-generated reality, we will put our passion for analog photography to the test in an unprecedented collaboration between generations.
In cooperation with Blind Magazine and Studio Harcourt, we have imagined a unique photographic project and challenged five trendsetting documentary photographers to confront themselves to five iconic cameras dating from 1935 to 1964.
